SEN Resources and support

In order to support you and your child at home we have gathered a range of resources from social stories and communication boards to help on learning and therapies you can access from home.

Communication and Interaction

The activities in this folder are designed to help your child develop their communication and interaction skills through fun games and activities.

Communication boards

This folder contains printable visuals for communication boards. If you need any more support with communication boards please contact (SENCO)

Fizzy and Clever hands

There are lots of things you can do at home to support your child. In the ‘Fizzy and clever hands’ folder we have gathered some activities that your children may have carried out in school which can be replicated at home.

Physical and Sensory support

The activities in this folder are designed to help your child develop fine and gross motor skills and provide valuable sensory input for them.

Routines

Children respond well to routines, it is important to keep some structure to the day. In the ‘routines’ folder you will find sheets for daily or weekly routines, now and next visuals and reward charts.

Well being and mental health 

Now more than ever it is important that we look after both our own and our children’s well being and mental health. In the ‘wellbeing and mental health’ folder you will find resources that will support you whilst talking to your children about their mental health and emotions. 

TISS wellbeing support folder- Thrive is an approach based on established neuroscience, attachment theory and child development. Thrive promotes children’s and young people’s positive mental health. Thanet Inclusion Support Service have been trained in the Thrive approach and have provided the activities in this folder to support you.

Therapies

If you child usually accesses therapies you can access lots of resources to continue their support at home.
