On Friday 11th November 2016, Year 4 completed an investigation day looking at the history of Remembrance celebrations and the conditions faced by soldiers during World War 1. During the day the children looked at the conscription process, weapons and equipment carried by the soldiers and conditions in the trenches. The children also got to take part in a night patrol into 'no-mans-land' and some lucky 'soldiers' even got to have a go at firing a decommissioned Lee Enfield rifle.
Welcome to Lapwing
In Term 2 Year 4 will be studying the Tudors in History and will be looking in detail at Electricity in Science. We will also be completing a geographical investigation of Scotland with particular focus on key landmarks such as Loch Ness and Edinburgh Castle.
Our key Talk4Writing text this term is Silverfin, a young Bond story, which we will be using to write our own meeting tales.
